The Newmarket School District is moving ahead with plans that will provide renovations, additions and overall upgrades district-wide for both Newmarket Elementary School and Newmarket Jr./Sr. High School. The Facilities Committee has carefully vetted many design options and strongly supports the proposed projects at both the Elementary School and Jr/Sr High School. The following is a brief overview of the proposed improvements for both facilities.

Elementary School

This design for the Newmarket Elementary School calls for 22,000 square feet of additions and extensive renovations to the existing building. A new gymnasium along with Grade 5, Pre-Kindergarten and Flex classrooms comprise the additions to the facility. Renovations would be completed over two different summers to help accommodate the students’ schedule.

Junior-Senior High School

The plan features over 50,000 square feet of additions along with comprehensive renovations to the existing space. The design is intended to increase classroom space, offer a more secure main entrance, connect circulation loops, provide daylight in most instructional spaces and consolidate art classrooms among other positive changes.
